Computer Gurus started with a simple mission: helping local people stay safe online. Founder Nasir Jamil began running free Friday afternoon community talks above a local café in Tunbridge Wells, teaching residents — especially older people — how to spot and avoid online scams.
Word spread, and so did the requests for hands-on help. That friendly advice naturally grew into a full computer repair service, run at first from a garage on Yew Tree Road. The same community spirit still shapes everything we do today.
We’ve grown the way good local businesses should — through honesty, word-of-mouth recommendations and genuinely friendly service. No pushy sales and no jargon, just reliable help you can count on.
Today we’ve helped nearly 3,000 customers, repaired more than 4,000 laptops and completed around 5,000 support jobs — making us one of the most trusted names for computer repairs in Tunbridge Wells.
Giving back has always been part of who we are. Through the Jamil Trust, our registered charity, we take donated laptops, securely wipe all data, refurbish them and donate them free of charge to people who need them most.
Registered as a charity in 2021, the Trust has helped local families, students and individuals get online — closing the digital gap one refurbished laptop at a time.
We believe in passing skills on to the next generation. We host Year 10 work placements, giving students real, hands-on repair experience working alongside our technicians.
Students help refurbish laptops for charity, build practical confidence and leave with genuine employment references — a head start that’s hard to find anywhere else.
